6. Health Information & HIPAA Notice

HealthLink Insurance Agency is not a covered entity under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 ("HIPAA") in our capacity as an insurance agency and comparison service. However, the insurance carriers and licensed agents we connect you with may be covered entities subject to HIPAA.

We collect limited health-related information (such as general health status you voluntarily disclose) solely to assist in matching you with appropriate plan options. This information is transmitted only to licensed insurance carriers and agents with your consent; never sold to data brokers, pharmaceutical companies, or employers; stored with encryption at rest and in transit; and retained only as long as necessary. Once you are connected with a licensed carrier or agent, their HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices will govern any health information you share with them directly.

• Lead & Quote Data: Up to 7 years from last contact, consistent with insurance record-keeping requirements.
• TCPA Consent Records: Indefinitely, to document consent and defend against potential legal claims.
• Analytics Data: 26 months.
• Enrolled Applicants: As long as required by the applicable carrier's record-keeping obligations.

Upon expiration of the applicable retention period, we securely delete or anonymize your personal information.

10. Data Security

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access controls, regular security audits, and data processing agreements with all service providers. Despite these measures, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach triggering notification obligations under applicable state or federal law, we will notify affected individuals as required.
